Princess Beatrice baby may take after grandmother Sarah Ferguson – ‘Got a hint of red’ | Royal | News

Beatrice, 33, gave birth to a baby girl on Saturday at a London hospital. The Queen‘s granddaughter and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, 38, have yet to share a snap of their first child together.

But, as royal fans grow curious to be introduced to the latest addition to the family tree, one source claims the baby may have inherited both her mother and grandmother’s flame-coloured hair.

A friend of Sarah, Duchess of York, told the Daily Mail: “She’s got a hint of red… and a hint of gold”.

The birth of Princess Beatrice’s baby, whose name has yet to be disclosed, was announced yesterday by Buckingham Palace.

A statement read: “Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter on Saturday September 18, 2021, at 11.42pm, at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London.

“The baby weighs six pounds and two ounces.

“The new baby’s grandparents and great-grandparents have all been informed and are delighted with the news.

“The family would like to thank all the staff at the hospital for their wonderful care.

“Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well, and the couple are looking forward to introducing their daughter to her big brother Christopher Woolf.”

A few hours after the announcement, Beatrice’s sister Eugenie shared a heartfelt message for her sister and brother-in-law.

“Congratulations on your new angel. I can’t wait to meet her and I’m so proud of you.

“We’re going to have so much fun watching our children grow up.”

The Queen’s granddaughter signed off the message with “Love Euge”.

The Instagram post also included a few words dedicated to her newborn niece who, as she revealed, she still has to meet.

Eugenie’s second part of the message read: “To my new niece ⁣

“I love you already and think you’re just awesome from the photos.. we’re going to have so much fun ⁣together.”

This time, she signed off her letter writing: “Love your Auntie Euge”.

While Eugenie, 31, has yet to meet her first niece, her mother Sarah, 61, is believed to have returned from Balmoral Castle on Friday and to have met the baby over the weekend.

The source said: “She’s perfect and Sarah is absolutely smitten.

“She’s always very proud of both girls but to have two grandchildren in a year is a total joy.”

Sarah recently gushed about being a grandmother in a letter addressed to her daughter published on Good Housekeeping.

While she highlighted the strong bond between herself and her daughters and how proud she is of them, the Duchess also wrote: “Being 61 makes me a young grandma, and I love it.

“I smile from my heart every day, because that is how it feels to be a granny.

“I have so many fun ideas of things to do with my grandchildren, and of course they’re a perfect new audience for all my children’s books.”
