What would Tier 5 look like?
Current Tier 4 restrictions mean non essential shops must close, along with pubs, bars and restaurants that cannot operate as takeaways.
Leisure and entertainment venues must also close their doors, but schools can remain open.
You cannot meet another household indoors, but you can meet one extra person outside in a public place such as a park.
These current rules are akin to the second national lockdown, and currently are in place for 43 percent of the country.
So if Tier 5 was to be implemented, it would require even stricter rules – perhaps the same as the first lockdown back in March.
