Barack Obama’s ‘unprecedented’ attack on Donald Trump ‘ironic’, says expert | World | News

Jadan Horyn told former presidents of the United States have historically opted not to wade back into the political landscape. Mr Horyn added Mr Obama’s criticism of the President Trump – who is seeking a second term in the White House – shows the “central irony” of the Democrat Party, who have often slammed the Republican for breaking US political precedent.

Mr Horyn said: “This is the central irony of everything that is going on right now.

“The last president of the United States accusing Donald Trump of shattering precedent and destroying norms.

“Yet, his response is to do the exact same thing.

“Barack Obama’s criticism of Donald Trump is unprecedented, it shatters every norm and that is a terrible thing for our country.

“Ex-presidents have historically not waded back into politics.”

Donald Trump is currently leading the Republican Party into the 2020 US Presidential election.

The election is set for November and President Trump will go head to head with Democrat nominee Joe Biden.

Earlier this month, the US political commentator told he expects the 2020 US election will be much closer than Donald Trump’s previous victory in 2016.

“I personally think that it will be much closer this time round.”

Mr Horyn added: “I do not believe that the Democrats doubling down on cancel culture and left progressive socialism will work in states that haven’t seen economic growth or progress from the neo-liberalism of the last 25 years.

“I still don’t see the Democratic party understanding that those states are central.

“They have put a figure in like Biden who they think looks like them those people, but their messaging has nothing to do with that.

“I think that gives a real opportunity to the President to just squeak it out.”
