Sheridan Smith, 39, was born on June 25, 1981 to Colin Smith and Marilyn Carroll, who were in a country band called The Daltons. Growing up in a showbiz environment, Sheridan had learnt to dance by the age of four and was singing by the time she was seven. After studying dance at the Joyce Mason School of Dancing, she became a member of the National Youth Music Theatre and performed in many productions. She has since had a very successful career in the showbiz industry but how did she make her fortune?
The website Celebrity Net Worth says that Sheridan is worth £15million.
According to the website, this equates to around $20million.
Much of this fortune has come from her career in TV but the actress first started out in productions.
Thanks to her success in the West End, the actress won two Laurence Olivier Awards, one for Best Actress in her role as Elle Woods in the musical version of Legally Blonde and the other for her time in Flare Path.
She added to her fortune with her success in Gavin and Stacey – which she starred in for two years – before going on to appear in ITV’s Benidorm in 2009. In the same year, she also took on the role of Joey Ross in Jonathan Creek – a show she continued to star in up until 2013.
Away from TV, Sheridan has added to her net worth by performing in multiple theatre productions.
These include Little Shop of Horrors (2006), Legally Blonde (2010), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (2013) and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat (2019).
Her feature film credits include Tower Block (2012), Quartet (2012), and The Huntsman: Winter’s War (2016).
As well as TV and theatre, the actress also played companion Lucie Miller in a radio series of Doctor Who in 2006 which also returned for a second and third series.
In 2012 she starred in the TV series Mrs. Biggs. Sheridan has starred in the films Hysteria, The Scapegoat, and Powder Room.
She won a BAFTA Award for Best Leading Actress for her role in Mrs. Biggs in 2013.
The multi-award winning actress was also honoured with the Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) just two years later in 2015.
In 2017, she released her album Sheridan which was followed by A Northern Soul just one year later.
In March 2018 she began dating her insurance broker fiancé Jamie Horn.
Her engagement ring is reportedly worth a whopping £10,000 with a central diamond stone sat on a small silver band.
